Does size really matter?

The technique of water colour painting, where many translucent layers of colour interact with reflecting light from the paper and the various pigments, create an amazing effect of depth within a nominally thick layer of paint.

This phenomenon is comparable to the wing of a butterfly, where there are no pigments and the wonderful colours are visualized through different wave lengths of light caused by variations in the thickness of the wing cover. Hans exploits this characteristic to stunning effect.

Modern digital processing and print reproduction technology allows us to enlarge the work to ultra large sizes and applications. A small sketch can be made to room size. Works can also be commissioned and designed to suit the desired scale and colour palette of an interior environment.

Live or work within the landscape, experience the fluidity of light and the magic of colour. Let it grow on you, let it help you grow.
